Subject: Fw: Vienna and Budapest Dance Weekends and travel 2009
Dear Dancing Friends,
The Vienna Branch would
like to invite you to our
20th
Jubilee Celebration Dance Weekend from
from 30th April to 3rd
May 2009
in Baden, near Vienna with
Graham Donald
and Susi Mayr as teachers and
Muriel Johnstone and Keith Smith as
musicians.
The weekend will begin with a welcome dance on Thursday evening,
followed by three days' dancing in Baden, an attractive Biedermeier
town close to Vienna. The programme includes six SCD classes plus optional
sessions for Biedermeier Waltz and Highland/Step dancing, as well as a formal
ball and a social dance in the evenings.
The venue for the event is the five-star Grand Hotel Sauerhof (www.sauerhof.at). The historic manor
house, first mentioned in official records in the 12th century as a
"turreted manor with a natural spring and a vineyard", was rebuilt in
1594. It was heavily damaged during the second Turkish siege of Vienna in 1683,
and entirely rebuilt in 1810. The hotel's historic wine cellar dates back to
1419.
In addition to our jubilee weekend we are offering the option of booking a whole week's dancing and travelling in
cooperation
with the Budapest
SCD Group from 24th April to 3rd May.
This week begins with the
10th
Anniversary International Dance Course in Budapest
followed by an organised travel
through Hungary and Austria (via Sopron, the Neusiedlersee and
Eisenstadt) to Baden with an outstanding program of culture and wine
tasting.
