The Leicester Branch was formed in 1977 and our membership hovers about the 100 mark. The main aim of our society is social and to promote the traditions of Scottish Country Dancing and Music in a happy atmosphere. We are fortunate in having ten fully qualified teachers and are therefore able to run four graded classes every week. The four classes cater for all abilities, from absolute beginners, intermediate standard dancers, those who want to concentrate on social dances and those who want to perfect their technique.
All who are interested in learning are welcome. It is not necessary to bring your own partner! Soft shoes are an essential - "trainers" will do fine to start with! For men, wearing a kilt is optional but, if you have one, wear it with pride! You won't be alone. Do feel free to come and try us out. We have a reputation for making visitors very welcome and, who knows, you may decide to stay on as a member. |
