Continuing the Tuesday class story……..

New season September ’08

On the 9th. September the class reopened after the Summer break.  To everyone’s surprise 6 brand new members arrived!  Over the Summer break quite a few people tend to e mail/’phone to enquire about dancing in Leicester but we have become used to some not turning up.  However, this year we were able to put a face to all bar 1. Although 13 regulars did not appear we still had a hall full. At the end of the first class one intrepid declared his intention of also coming on Thursdays and true to his word turned up on the first Thursday and promptly joined as a full member! ( He is now considering Mondays at the Caledonian class as well!)

On the 16th. September most of the regulars returned along with most of the new faces plus 2 more new faces resulting in a final dance with 3x 4 couple sets! It must be said that the newcomers who did not come back had all handed in advance absence notes the week before.

One of 2 Brand new teapots is now in use on Tuesdays and we are working on re establishing the biscuit routine.  Biscuits were actually forgotten the first week but 2 generous members celebrating their Ruby Wedding had provided delicious chocolates which fitted the bill quite nicely!

We have 5 Teachers who teach in pairs for either the 6 or 7 week session. Two of these have fully graduated to using a Lap Top for the music although CDs are always on hand just in case.

UP to date news: Now in its 4th week of the new session we are still pushing 3x4 couple sets. This means we get much more experience of dancing the dances from 1st. place and again from 2nd. New folk continue to pop up, the biscuit tin is well replenished, but….the new tea pots leak!

Join us on Tuesdays at 1.30p.m. and dance until 3.45 p.m  Everyone welcome!
